This open celled foam has great absorption co-efficient, what this basically means is that if 100% of the sound gets directed at the foam then 70% will be absorbed and 30% will be reflected back to the projection source, what this means is in loud environments such as music studios, night clubs, or cinema rooms, it will prevent sound travelling to other rooms, and more importantly sharpen up the sound quality in the subject room.

As the material is very versatile it comes in various thicknesses for different applications.

The most common for music studios, sound booths etc is convoluted foam this icon foam is so widely used because of the basic principles it carries, sound travels in straight lines, so when it bounces off a surface with an angle it refracts as well as absorbs into the foam, making it an even better source of sound reduction.

Because of the shape of the material, it increases the surface area of the product so it absorbs noise more effectively.
